Adaptation of Industrial Revolution 4.0 in a Seaport System

As pillars of logistics, supply chains, and transport networks, seaports have led to a substantial demand for countless economic advantages. The sustainability competitive advantage seaport businesses depend on their ability adapt changing business requirements, while Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) is current phenomenon that connects the global market through smart technologies involving cyber-physical systems overcome trade uncertainty. However, focusing only growing benefits might lead an ineffective sustainable implementation IR within system. Therefore, this paper compares status against Malaysian system ensure development in Malaysia aligned with technological trends requirements. In addition, investigates critical factors (CSFs) seaports. A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) used obtain data from 13 domain experts, various maritime stakeholders, which further analysed by using Thematic Analysis. result has shown most started initiate fusion adaptation. contrast, Malaysia, country are still behind trend just starting explore concept instead expanding next level (global benchmark).
